Water resistance is the measure of how well a watch will resist the intrusion of moisture. The table below shows how much water each watch can resist: ATM | FEET | METERS | USAGE | 3 | 100 | 30 | Will with stand splashes or brief immersion in water, but it is not suitable for swimming but is suitable for showering | 5 | 165 | 50 | Suitable for swimming. | 10 | 330 | 100 | Suitable for swimming and snorkeling. | 15 | 500 | 150 | Suitable for snorkeling. | 200 | 660 | 200 | Suitable for skin diving. |
Caring for your water resistant watch: - Do not press any of the buttons whilst submerged.
- Do not pull out the winder whilst submerged.
- If the case, glass or seal is damaged, the watch will no longer be water resistant.
If a watch is exposed to seawater, it should be washed well in fresh water and dried with a lint-free cloth. - Batteries should be changed by the manufacturer or a Goldsmiths craftsman, so the water resistant seals can be checked and renewed. Otherwise the watch can no longer be guaranteed.
